Hi, everyone!
I'm here to very sincerely ask for a donation of any amount to help support a medical fund for my precious cat, Stella. She's turning three very soon. Stella recently had a litter of kittens, and we quickly intended to spay her after this. When we did, we went to an LA County facility, and something really unexpected happened --she came back from the surgery almost completely paralyzed from her hind legs.
Truthfully, almost every vet I take her to is baffled by what could have happened. She has been dragging her legs and after some steroidal treatment is now walking on top of her feet, in the wrong direction, the "knee" part of her leg isn't bending normally. It did arise in conjunction with her spay surgery, but all vets are stressing that these two incidents are separate.
The next step is to take her to a neurological specialist, where the initial consultation costs $150, and the MRI's required would be upwards of $3,000, not including any ultrasound work. I'm asking for a little bit more because of the cut GoFundMe requires.
A little bit about me: I am a graduating Bruin, class of 2015, who is in dire financial straits as it is, having just graduated. I'm holding a steady part time job, but cannot dream of spending this much on my cat alone. Also the exorbitant cost of housing in Los Angeles drains my account almost completely. The medication, care, vet visits, handmade and store-bought protective boots have already cost me $500. I really, really love Stella and want her to live a happy, full life, especially since she can enjoy it side by side with her daughter, a kitten, also pictured. Before this Stella was a neighborhood cat who really enjoyed being outdoors, running faster than me or any human, and playing with friends outside. She's beautiful and makes me happy everyday and I just want to return the favor, with your generous help.
