If you've arrived at this page, chances are you know these kids. You've either been involved with the Houck, Vaughn, or Grundy families in some way, or the kids played on your team, went to your school, or served you in some capacity. Now - they need your help to achieve their next goal. Here is how it started...
October 31st, 2015 a group of five soccer players swapped sports and decided to spend their "off season" by launching a rookie team in First Lego League Robotics. They began prepping for a regional qualifier that was just under 2 short months away. They had no idea what to expect, or where they would finish. They were just having fun with robots, research, and sharing their discoveries while enjoying eachother's company.
Then the crazy thing happened... they won. 1st place in the project division of the tournament, 4th place in the robot game, and a trip to the South Idaho State Championships one month later!
In preparation for the championship, they reviewed the judges critiques, fixed what they could figure out with the robot, and overall "upped their game". They went into the South Idaho Championship with the right attitude... If they won anything - it would have to be by accident. After all, they were rookies. They were prepared, but never expected to win - simply to do their best. Where ever that landed them would be enough.
Well, accidents happen. 5th in the robot game with over 100 points increase from regionals. Perfect scores on all the judges sheets. The High Voltage Couch Bananas were named South Idaho Champions, winning first place overall and an invitation to the Legoland North American Open - an International Tournament!
