An outline is a list of items, organized according to some consistent principle. 

In CommentOutline,  users address a challenging issue within the community.  They follow a process outline, and post their contributions within the outline. They collaborate, come together in consensus, and create opportunites to reach their goals. Through their efforts, they bring prosperity to everyone involved.

The outline starts with a Prosperity Process, proven successful by other like minded organizations.  Users follow along the outline and complete the steps together in collaboration.  As a result, an effective plan of action grows organically within the outline according to their specific needs.  

By following proven processes, users are empowered to create thriving, successful, sustainable community based organizations, which bring people together and brings prosperity to everyone affected by the issues.

Group Leadership Workflow Process

Starting up successful causes, and organizations can be achieved by following a workflow process and checklist so any group can assure their own success.

The Group Leadership Process enables groups to lead themselves with confidence in knowing they are on the right course to achieving their goals.  As with all processes within CommentOutline, users can customize the process to fit their particular organization needs.

The Challenge

However, for every successful worthy cause, there are thousands of people who are inspired to do the same.  But many of them do not know where to start.

They are not leaders, they have no organizaing experience, they do not know how to attract participants and they do not know how to raise donations.  So instead of taking action, they do nothing, and that leaves them feeling powerless, frustrated and angry.

The secret to creating a successful community organization is no secret. It is a time tested, proven process made up of individual steps.  When an organization uploads their successful plans into a CommentOutline,  other people can start their own causes, follow along and complete the steps, and then duplicate success in their own communities too.


Customization and Iteration Improvements

Communities don't all have the same needs.  Each one can change the steps in the process to better suit their own situation.

Their new steps are added to the original process to help future organizations with similar needs.  Through incremental improvements in the steps made by the users over time, the updated process will eventually have the ability to cover every need within an issue.  Everyone will benefit.

An Innovative Commenting Platform for Collaboration

CommentOutline turns the commenting platform on its head.  It brings order to chaos by enabling comments to self-organize within an outline, where every comment is a well placed line within the outline.

Instead of an endless series of disconnected comments, the outline creates purpose and direction, so the comments flow in a logical, relevant order.

Users don't waste their time posting comments that only express their opinions. Instead, they collaborate to create useful knowledge and a shared understanding around an issue. Then they find consensus, make intelligent decisions, create plans of action,  assign tasks, and reach project milestones and organizational goals.


Comment Types

CommentOutline uses different comment types, which helps users place their comments in an orderly, relevant outline, where everything is easy to find.


Issue Comment

The first type of comment is the Issue Comment. You use this comment type to ask a question, state an issue or pose a query. An Issue Comment is usually the first comment in a new CommentOutline thread.


Idea Comment

You answer an Issue Comment with one or more Idea Comments that attempt to provide a solution for the Issue Comment.


Pro & Con Comments

To determine which Idea Comments are actually good ideas, you discuss them with Pro Comments and Con Comments. Pro and Con Comments can be used to reply after any comment type, including their own.

In other words, each comment within the outline can be discussed for their merits. This adds accountability to every comment. Within any section of an outline, trollish and spam comments are deprecated. Bad comments drop to the bottom and are ignored.  Good comments rise to the top and are acknowledged for their value.


Decision Comment

When users come to agreement on a point, a Decision Comment is created that states the final outcome. The decision making thread of pros and cons gets archived under the Decision Comment because it is no longer active. But it stays available for anyone who may want to review the thread to see why a decision was made one way and not another.  If new information becomes available, the thread can be reactivated for additional discussion to assure the right decisions are being made.


Unlimited Comment Types

There are other Comment Types, but these are the main types used for group collaboration, reaching consensus and making decisions.  Other Comment Types  will be revealed soon.  If there is a group need for a new Comment Type, it can be easily created by an administrator. 

Also, Comment Types not used by a group can be deleted from the user interface.  Only the tools you need are shown.  CommentOutline is customized for the specific needs of the group to eliminate distractions and to provide a better user experience.


Rapid Development

CommentOutline is being built quickly, using Drupal 7, a free, open source Content Management Platform.  No code needs to be written, the site only needs to be configured!

As a result, a great amount of development time and money are saved.   CommentOutline is designed so  users can easily customize it on the front end for their own needs.  They do not have to learn Drupal or reconfigure the structure on the back end.


Community Built

CommentOutline is also being community built.  Anyone can offer suggestions for improvement.  Qualified developers who want to get involved will be given access to our Pantheon.io Development Platform.

Developers can work independently using GIT to develop new features, and then test their work in a
testing environment.  Once proven successful, their new features are forked into the live site.  CommentOutline is also immune from backdoor attacks, because only the new configurations are forked, and not any code or data.

Once a stable version of CommentOutline is built, it will be released to the public. Then, anyone can use it for free to work on the issues of their choice to bring prosperity to their communities.

All issue outlines and new steps created by users will be tied together into the main CommentOutline website.  Everyone will be free to collaborate with all other organizations working on the same issue, no matter where they are in the world.

Once language translation software is turned on, CommentOutline will become a truly global collaboration on every issue.  In time, the people of the world will empower themselves to collaborate together and create unlimited prosperity for all on a global level.


Donation Goals and Fund Uses

The time line for development and release is based on the following donation goals:

$500 - Within one week of hitting this goal, a testing site will go live.  Everyone who has contributed at least $5.00 will be invited to participate.

You will be able to create a new account, complete your profile, upload your photo, name the issues that are important to you, and start to attract others to your cause.

We will also allow comments, suggestions and feedback for website development.


$5,000 – Within two week, we will add additional functionality to the process steps includes the initial steps of the CommentOutline process.

$10,000 – Add in the remaining steps of the CommentOutline process for Alpha Testing.

$15,000 – Add issue outlines from successful start up organizations for the most popular issues. Anyone working on these issues will be able to duplicate similar results in their own communities

$20,000 – Increase the variety of issues, opening up more possibilities for community improvement.
Begin Beta Testing, also with contributors only.

$30,000 – Finish Beta Testing and open up CommentOutline to the public.


Self Funding

After public release, we expect CommentOutline to become self funding from ongoing contributions through the website.

We will also raise funds by offering a CommentOutline website distribution, for a fee, to organizations who wish to create their own private websites.
