RideAble needs your financial help! This is the situation: RideAble needs at least $10,000 in the next two weeks just to be able to start March with any possibility of continuing.
We have provided horsemanship instruction for the special needs community in a safe and interactive environment for the past 20 years. Our equine programs benefit children, teens, and adults with disabilities that include autism, stroke, cerebral palsy, emotional, physical, and intellectual disabilities, and sight or hearing impairment. RideAble activities are designed to meet the diverse and unique needs, abilities, stamina, and goals of each individual client and to develop and improve essential life skills.
The reasons that we are at this point are many, including that our last big fundraiser was not fully successful, and we have not yet been able to make up the shortfall with grants. Moreover, RideAble is “in transition”—we thrived for many years under our current director, but her impending retirement has led to some transition challenges. This month, we are on the verge of hiring a new Executive Director who has great vision, talent, and energy, but we just need help right NOW to move forward. The board, concerned parents, and participants have met and made exciting plans to rebuild and revitalize RideAble under new leadership, but transitions are always difficult. We need your help for RideAble to weather this temporary storm.
This program has benefitted a lot of people in our community for 20 years! These specially trained, skilled, magical horses, and PetAble animals have provided a unique enriching confidence building experience for our community. The horses are excited when the participants come in to the barn, they recognize their student, and they are ready to do their job! Please help RideAble get over this hurdle so we can continue this valuable and wonderful opportunity!!
