USFirst's The PatriotsTeam 5841 is a spanking, brand new Competitive Robotics Team housed at Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, Maryland. Our student body numbers 1,429. Our club presently numbers 37 members. Students from grades 9 through 12 hail from urban, suburban, and rural areas throughout Frederick. We are very proud of our diversity and "can do" attitude.
We believe we own the necessary hunger, skills, creativity, drive, enthusiasm, and perseverance necessary to chase success through robotic achievement. We want to earn this success by competing at the USFirst's Robotics district's competitive events. Our first event will be held in mid March in Northern Maryland.
Locally, we have been assigned at Governor Thomas Johnson High School, a dedicated classroom. We are still searching for appropriate tools and equipment. We have the necessary administrative support from Mr. Reid, and we are working with fine community mentors, So what's our problem? We are concerned about competition registration fees, bus transportation fees, competitive robot kit fees, and team t-shirt fees, We are also exploring every possible grant opportunity available to us through US FIRST and beyond.
We're simply short on finances and are seeking your assistance in making our goals become a reality. We want to compete on the district level. Then we want to earn our right to keep on competing until we reach the sky. We believe only the sky's our limit if we are able to find a way to underwrite our competition costs.
