Peirce Kindergarten Playground

Currently, the Peirce Kindergartners spend their limited recess and snack time on this playground.  Often waiting for a turn on the two swings, or looking for a place to sit on the ground to eat their snack.  In 2014,  Kindergarten teachers approached the PTO for help.  They envisioned a playspace where the children could play musical instruments, write on a giant chalkwall, play pretend in a playhouse, and enjoy nature by creating a board walk and bridge and planting sustainable plants.  The PTO gladly granted $3,000.00 toward this project.  Mrs. Lloyd made an additional grant request to AEF for further funding.  

While these grants will allow us to buy much of the equipment, we will still need to pay a contractor to install a board walk and bridge, as well as the new playground equipment.  

We have been lucky enough to have parent volunteers who have helped create designs for the new space and research instruments and landscaping ideas to help bring our teachers' vision to life.

Now we need your help!  Help transform the existing playground into a playspace that will help our kids engage in sensory experiences as well as physical play.  The updates will also allow teachers to use the space as an outdoor classroom, which means more outdoor time for our kids!  Please consider donating whatever amount you can; and just as importantly, spreading the word!  It takes a village, after all.
