Vermonter in Texas for Bernie!

I first heard Bernie speak as a teenager.  I grew up just outside of Burlington, Vermont.  Home of the nations first but not only socialist Mayor.

I have been a huge ( yes I said it) fan of his even before I started voting.  I credit my passion and repesct of our nations citizens right to vote to hearing his passion for the process.  He called out our national government for not doing enough for the environment.  This was not last year or around some major environmental pollution accident.  It was 1983.  

I have since seen him speak and I revele in his consistent commentary to the house and senate floors. He fights for us.  He speaks for me.  And finally millions of people are hearing it.  But hearing is not enough.  We need action and the revolution.

A revolution is carried out by millions of people getting up each day and putting the fight before any other action.

I have been doing that and I want to keep doing it.

I have given up work, sleep, time with my family and friends, just to knock doors or make calls.  I had the very great opportunity to train over 200 Texas phone bankers.

I have talked to people across the country and helped them hold events or talked to them about the issues that matter to them.  I have been lucky enough to be invited to speak at the rally he held here in the Dallas area.

That may sound like "do a lot for Bernie".  But there is real work that our democracy needs.  It needs parties that fight for the people and are not stifled by assumptive winners and back room deals.

I went to the county convention for my district and my eyes were opened to a real system in motion and a forum for discussion.  I was welcomed and encouraged to take part.  I was invited to be a delegate to the Texas democratic convention in San Antonio in June and I have been making plans for that, saving for that.

I am feeling compelled to run for the National Delegate spot from my district for Bernie, however, the funds needed are beyond my scope.  I save up for big events but by July after a big trip in June, there is just not enough time.

Maybe you wish you could do more or maybe you just really want to make sure Bernie's message is represented in Pennsylvania.

I would like to ask you to back me on this campaign endeavor.  Win or lose, the Democratic Party will know that the Bernie supporters mean business.  A revolution doesn't happen overnight, but it is always an inside job.

I want the opportunity to continue spreading the common sense solutions to monumental issues that Bernie is fighting for.  I feel like I am a mondern day Ben Franklin.  I just need a little help to get to Pennsylvania.

The money I raise will be used for travel and accommodations (over $500 per night in hotel bills alone) and it will add up quick.

I am lucky enough to have a flexible job schedule that allows me to take the whole 6 day convention off and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this historic moment in our country's fight for democracy.

Please give what you are able and know that every cent is appreciated and will help me represent us this July in Pennsylvania.
