The Soap Shower

This GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds for the prototype and product design of The Soap Shower. This is a automatic body wash soap dispenser for the shower. This dispenser will enable someone with one hand to shower without assistance. It attaches to the shower wall. A tube goes from the soap compartment to the shower head. When the user wants soap, just push the button and body wash will mix with the water and soapy water will be over your entire body. Works with any shower head or hand held shower wand. As you read Walter's story, you'll discover he was the inspiration behind the creation of The Soap Shower. For more information visit www.thewcgpa.comThe Weston Commercial Group Inc

The Weston Commercial Group, Inc in Philadelphia, PA was inspired by the CEO’s older brother to create The Soap Shower. Walter was born with the disease Sickle Cell Anemia. He was active like any other five-year-old boy. By the time he was seven, he already suffered three strokes. The first one left him without the use of his left hand, the second stroke took his speech away, and the third left him paralyzed, but his speech returned.

Walter was hospitalized over one hundred and fifty times, mainly at St. Christopher's hospital for children and General Hospital, which is where the Children's Hospital stands today. Walter's longest stay was three years at The Seashore House, which is still at its present location. His youngest brother, the late Michael A. Weston and Patricia were too young to visit him at the seashore house, but they could see and talk to him from the third floor window of his room. During his stay there, he met and befriended a social worker by the name of Mr. Haas. They became very close. He visited Walter at the hospital and at home just to say hello and check his progress.

Walter was a poster boy for The Easter Seals Foundation when he was a child. Despite his illness, he was always smiling. As he got older, his sickle cell attacks lessened. He received his high school diploma though a home school program. Walter was well taken care of and was included in all activities with family and friends. Walter passed away one year before his 50th birthday. We were already planning the big event, but he just didn't make it.

Walter was aware of The Soap Shower. When his sister Patricia told him about it and showed him along with the rest of the family, he couldn't believe it! He stated "Is this for me?", "I don't have to let you guys bathe me like I'm a baby?”, “When can you make it?", "I can wash with one hand!" Everyone was so excited!

Walter is watching from heaven, happy to see others get the chance to declare their independence, increase the quality of their lives, and free up their caretakers from such a personal task.
