Hope For Zambia

Donation protected

I will be returning to Zambia From June 18th through July 6th while I was there last summer it was absolutely incredible to see the sick healed and children provided for and loved but in spite of having seen all of that, the greatest thing I can say is that the gospel saves sinners; That the power of Jesus Christ transformed many lives in Zambia, including mine.  While in Zambia My team and I will go to some of the most poverty stricken areas in Africa and help run a summer camp called Camp Hope in the Chongwe Village with Every Orphans Hope.

Zambian children are casualties of the war against HIV/Aids. In fact, every 35 seconds, a child becomes an AIDS orphan. More than 710,000 children have lost parents, and many are left on the streets. This summer I will return to Zambia to serve and show the love of the Lord to these children and bring them and the people there the Hope of the life saving message of Jesus Christ!

I'm asking you to be a part of what the Lord is doing in Zambia by praying prior to the trip for safety, finances and of course the people we will be ministering to. Another way you could support me is financially. The amount needed for my trip is about $5000, which includes flights, meals and everything else for when I'm in Zambia. I am confident that The Lord is going to provide!

There I was standing on the unleveled ground eight thousand miles away from home. I knew I was definitely not in Texas anymore. I traded my family for a month with a group of forty radical teenagers determined to make an eternal impact in the lives of Orphaned children, I traded my bed for a tent in the middle of a field , yet I honestly can say that I do not count any of it as sacrifice because the reward was so much greater. As I looked around I saw the faces that I soon realized I would never forget. I spent one month serving in the Chongwe Village of Zambia Africa with Every Orphans Hope, a ministry dedicated to rescuing orphaned children who have been affected by the AIDS epidemic in bringing the hope into the lives of orphans who have truly lost everything.

As I starred into the eyes of one of my babies, Wise, one of the six boys in my group of camp Hope, I could not help but see the brokenness in such a young child's eyes. But then it hit me. We were from two completely different worlds with totally different lives. I came from a fast paced world where if I ran out of bottled water I could simply get in my car and buy a twenty-four pack. While, Wise would have to walk two miles to a water pump for murky water that was not even safe to drink. Thoughts raced through my mind I had yet to experience half of the hardships that Wise had in his five years of living. However, regardless of the differences in our backgrounds I was determined to love him and all of the other children as if my love was unlimited. The whole reason why I was in Zambia in the first place was to see this young boy grow and come to the understanding that he was loved. I spent countless hours under that Zambian sun playing, singing, dancing, and teaching them about the Love of their heavenly father.

Looking back I will always hold one moment very closely to my heart as I was walking around the village a few days after the camp was over, Wise had found me. He ran and jumped into my arms, as if he became permanently attached to me. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and whispered "Ni kukonda" which meant I love you. I then realized that Wise had taught me that love was universal and even though I did not speak Nyanja, or had been through the same circumstances, I knew that the love of the father is what connected us. It was greater than and emotion or feeling, it was real.

This is why I am asking you to please pray for this trip to zambia and support this trip, so that children like wise would find hope in Jesus Christ, I know that God has amazing things in store for this summer and I want you to be apart of it!
