Fund Walls for Our Border... Collies! (Pet Rescue)

Donation protected

I created this gofundme for a friend in need. She is a wonderful person with an enormous heart who will literally go without food to help friends, strangers, and animals alike. Now it is her turn to have some of those blessings returned to her in her time of crisis. Please like, share, and give if you can. Even  $5 would make a difference. Every little bit helps!

Who we are:

Paws-N-Claws is a small no-kill animal rescue run by a single parent family in Southwest Fort Wayne that has been rescuing, rehabbing, and rehoming animals since 2002. Our primary focus is small animals and exotics: birds, fish, reptiles, rodents, other small animals and "exotic" pets like sugar gliders and chinchillas, as these animals don't have nearly as many human advocates as other pet species (such as cats and dogs). Our Facebook page is here:  https://www.facebook.com/PawsNClawsAnimalRescue/

What the funds are for:

In December 2016, the furnace at the shelter, which is also the home of the shelter's owner and her children, failed, leading to the water pipes freezing and breaking, flooding the downstairs and basement.

This destroyed the water heater, damaged the basement walls and foundation, ruined most of the items on the first floor of the house, damaged most of the drywall, doors, wood trim, cabinets, vanities, etc. and decimated all of the flooring on the first floor, amongst other things.

We've already rented a pump to get the water out, bought multiple dehumidifiers, torn out most of the damaged cabinets, vanities, drywall, flooring, and etc., replaced the furnace and water heater; and fixed the pipes enough that water is usable again. We've also bought quite a few tools, some of the paint and flooring materials, new toilets, the cheapest vanities with sinks we could find, faucets, and a lot of miscellaneous. It has already cost over  $15,000!

But now, the money has run out.

What we still need:

- Flooring materials
- Tools and hardware
- Basement sump pump
-Lumber
- Replacement drywall
-Plumbing and electrical fixtures
- More pipe repairs
- Repairs to the basement wall and foundation (The basement basically needs a complete overhaul. To make it a usable space we are looking at around  $25k!)
- Cabinets
- Paint
- Doors
- Screen door and major porch repair/rebuild
- Fencing for roughly an acre of land
- Ongoing needs like food/bedding and other supplies/help with vet bills

This has been a major setback and a huge challenge in trying to keep the rescue going. We need your help so we can continue providing a no-kill shelter option in Fort Wayne for small animals that allows us to continue to help find them their forever homes.
