$10,000 for Sick Kids by Christmas

Hi I'm Cheridan.

I'm 13 and as you can see in my picture I have VERY long hair.  (That's my little brother.  He wants to get to cut it!)

I've always planned to donate it to make wigs for people with cancer. Now I have enough to make 2 long wigs.

One day, my mom suggested that we do a fundraiser to go along with my haircut.

"How much do you want to raise?", she asked me.

I kind of joked and said $10,000.00, thinking it would take all year to raise.

When she pointed out that ten thousand dollars is only a thousand people donating $10 or five hundred people giving $20, I realized that, with some hard work and help from the community, we could do that pretty fast.

$10, 000 for Sick Kids by Christmas

I love giving presents and spending time with my family. So, it didn't take long to decided that $10,000 could bless a lot of kids with cancer this Christmas.

I thought about the boredom, stress and loneliness of Christmas in the hospital. It just sounds sad. Many kids will spend hours alone because parents still have to work when they get sick. Also, it is expensive to have a sick kid. I'm told parking alone everyday at a hospital is as much as a month's mortgage or rent for lots of families.
