Peace Building in North Ireland
Donation protected
I'm Nicole Shepard. I'm a writing studies and journalism student at UVU. I have a great opportunity to live in Belfast Ireland for 30-40 days to study religious conflict resolution and peace-building skills.
My goal is to meet people who are victims of religious warfare to show that the gradation that exists in Christian communities is dangerous. I hope to shed light on the reality of what religious intolerance can do to a society so that we may avoid such tragedy in the future.
My goal is to take advantage of this opportunity while acquiring the least amount of debt possible, which is why I am asking for your help.
The money raised here will fund my travel, education and living expenses while I do this study/internship abroad. The monetary breakdown looks like this:
* $3,995 program fees (lodging, in-country travel, 1-2 meal9s) a day)
* $1,500 (approximately) roundtrip airfare
*$160/class credit x 9 credit hours = $1,440
*$500 usage fees
This totals to be $7,435.
I understand that this is a lot of money for anyone. I'm not asking for major donations (unless you are so obliged), what I am asking for is donations that range between $5- $30. A little can go a long way.
Please help me reach my goal and help prove that where there is a will there is a way.
Thank you. And please pass this on!
