My name is Kevin James Hughes. I am a recent graduate of Simpson College with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. I have always had a passion in science and finding ways to help the society; whether it is through healthcare or environmental means. I am currently doing research at Virginia Tech working on aneuploidy, a process that cells go through to become cancerous. I am on track to get my Ph. D in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a M.B.A. I plan on starting my own biotechnology company in the near future so I can have a greater impact on improving healthcare.
While in Europe, I will be creating a documentary (open to the public) highlighting current and global trends in healthcare, energy, and the environment; problems that need to be addressed; and how nano-medicine and nanoscience is the wave of the future for the cure of diseases such as cancer, finding alternate sources of energy, and battling environmental issues.
