One Thousand Flowers

I am a naturalist and author.  In 2011, I completed a Big Butterfly Year, which I documented in the book, Butterfly Rider, A Biker's Year Long Search for Butterflies.  In 2013, I would like to focus my efforts on Appalachian wildflowers with a project entitled One Thousand Flowers.  Money raised will fund my travel (gas, food, and lodging) throughout Appalachia, with a goal of photographically documenting 1000 plant species.  At the conclusion of the year, I will once again publish a book and calendar by the same name, with 50% of proceeds from the sale of the book and calendars going to the Appalachian ministries which fight poverty, childhood obesity, and environmental injustice in Appalachia.
