Representing the Printing Industry at WorldSkills
Chandler Kerr, two-time gold medal National SkillsUSA winner and graduate of the PrintED program at the Center of Applied Technology North in Severn, Maryland, has been selected to represent the United States in the 2017 WorldSkills Print Media Technology competition that will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE this October. This campaign was setup on his behalf to help raise the $27,500 necessary to attend the competition.
How do you get to WorldSkills? You earn it!
Chandler earned the chance to represent the United States by winning gold medals at the 2014 and 2015 National SkillsUSA Graphic Communications competition. In 2014, he broke the scoring record for the competition and in 2015 he broke his own record on the way to winning his second consecutive gold medal.
Destination WorldSkills
Upon winning his second gold medal, Chandler set his sights on WorldSkills. Through a long and exhaustive selection process, Chandler proved that he possessed the skills to be competitive at the international level and was selected to be part of TeamUSA. Organized by SkillsUSA, TeamUSA consists of 11 U.S. students competing in 10 trade areas. Chandler will be com-peting in the Print Media Technology competition. With a little luck, and support, we believe he will go far!
Getting from Here to There
Training, preparation, registration and travel expenses are no small matter. As Chandler’s local affiliate of the Printing Industries of America, the Printing & Graphics Association, MidAtlantic (PGAMA) has taken up his cause and is coordinating the fundraising for his expenses. We would like to raise the funds by the end of June so that Chandler can focus solely on preparing for the competition.
Thank You for Supporting the Future of Print
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Chandler. It is so exciting to see young talent show passion for our industry. His talent and dedication are unmatched. By supporting him, you are supporting the future of print. Help him bring home the gold! No amount is too small. We hope to reach our goal through many small donations . . . although large donations are great too! Thank you in advance for making a donation to support Chandler’s effort!
