Rio becomes an Assistance Dog!
Rio, a dog found stray and turned into the Espanola Valley Humane Society, has the opportunity of a lifetime. He has been accepted into the nationally recognized Animal Farm Foundation's Assistance Dog Program! But we need to get him from Espanola, NM to Bangall, NY. Animal Farm Foundation is paying for the gas and tolls, and the person driving Rio east is not being paid, but funds are still needed for:
-Car rental from ABQ to JFK for 5 days: $998.00
-Pet-Friendly Hotel for 3 nights ($119 each night): $357
-Flight from JFK to ABQ: $160
-Dog proof seat cover for rental car: $70 (we want to cover front and back seats)
-GoFundMe 5% fee: $80
Total needed: $1674.00
We want to make this trip on Sunday, February 24th, spend 3 days driving, spend the fourth night at Animal Farm Foundation and fly back to New Mexico on Thursday, February 28th.
Please share far and wide to help us land Rio's dream job. Thank you for your support, and don't forget, all donations to Espanola Valley Humane Society are entirely tax deductible.
Espanola Valley Humane Society is the only open-admission animal shelter in Rio Arriba County, NM. We receive over 4,000 animals every year and provide low cost spay/neuter and vaccination services as well as adoptions.
