Benefit for Joe Gencarelli (DJ Joey G)
Donation protected
Joe Gencarelli, also known as DJ Joey G, has battled with with an osteomyelitis in his left foot, a bone infection, for almost 3 years. He's had a large wound on his foot, causing him pain and infections, which made it hard for him to work or even play with his two young daughters. He wore a large C.R.O.W. boot for almost 2 years and was hospitalized multiple times with infections.
After almost 3 years of the pain, hospital visits and the threat of the infection spreading, Joe decided it was time to take care of the problem. On January 28th, 2013, he had a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg. This procedure will save Joe from the threat of future infections or more difficult surgery. It will also allow him to be the best father possible to his two beautiful daughters for a long time, after his healing process.
Because of being hospitalized many times, doctor's visits, meds, and his recent surgery, Joe has accumulated an incredible amount of medical bills. Being self employed as a DJ, he can't work for a long period of time until healing, getting a prosthetic, and learning how to use it properly. He also has to come up with funds for his prosthetic. With the the help of his incredible family and friends, Joe hopes to be able to get through this tough time of healing and learning how to live with his prosthetic so that he can return to work as a DJ and spend time playing with his daughters again. Please help him get through this challenging time by donating what you can. God Bless.
