SUP all 50 States

Starting June 14th and lasting for 50 days, I will start a journey to stand up paddle at least 5 miles in each of the 50 states. I am combining my passions and values and dreams in this trip.
This trip started as a reaction to life events, but I am now seeing it as an opportunity to expand my understanding of community and renew my dedication to health and my dream to explore. When I first shared this idea with my friends, some claimed I was crazy and others simply questioned. It was during this stage that I discovered an opportunity to spread awareness to what is driving me to actually take this idea serious myself: it fosters community and health and adventure.
I am well aware this opportunity exists because of community: whether it is the small community of my family, my friends, or the extended community of former students, or even the clerk at Target who encouraged this idea when she questioned why I was buying a map. This opportunity exists because of the support and love I have and continue to have from those in my community.
My friend and colleague, Matt Dale, will join for a part of the journey. Brad Peterson will join for a part of the journey. My mom will join in part of the journey. I encourage and welcome anyone who wants to add some adventure and community and health to reach out let us know how you want to support.
