D.C. Contest for Stevenson Students

Stevenson Middle School has two students advancing the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C., on June 10-17. WE NEED YOUR HELP. We have to raise approximately $3000.00 to send these kids and their exhibit to Washington. This is a very unique opportunity for our students, representing not only Stevenson and the Honolulu area, but also the state of Hawaii, in a national academic competition. We are so incredibly proud of each of these two hard-working and dedicated students!
What is Hawaii History Day?
Each year thousands of students, encouraged by teachers and parents statewide, participate in the National History Day program in Hawaii. Hawaii History Day, an affiliate of NHD and is a highly regarded academic program for 4th through 12th-grade students. More information about the contest can be seen on the National History Day's website: www.nhd.org.
Each year nearly 3,000 students and their parents and teachers gather at the University of Maryland, College Park for the week-long event. These enthusiastic groups come from all over the United States, Guam, American Samoa, Department of Defense Schools in Puerto Rico, and international schools in China, Korea, and South Asia. The NHD excitement can be felt across the campus. After spending months on project research and preparation, and competing at local and affiliate contests, these students are eager to show their hard work at the national level.
Funding requirements:
$2800 travel
$1000 lodging and food
$200 NHD registration
Each student already paid $500 deposit.
Please help these two outstanding individuals showcase their talents and hard-work and represent Stevenson and the state of Hawaii at the national level in the History Day Competition.
