Introduction
Jamal
Graham is a 27 year old graduated from Delaware State University in Dover, DE
where he studied Criminal Justice. He is employed as a Federal Police Officer
with the Department of Defense (Sgt) in Washington, D.C. While, working Jamal
was also seeking his Master's Degree at Bowie State University in Bowie, MD.
Jamal worships at the 1st Baptist Church of Glenarden in Largo, MD.
Medical
Background
Since October 2011, Jamal has been faced with several medical challenges. Jamal was admitted to George Washington University Hospital (ICU) on November 29, 2011 due to a tumor. The tumor was sitting on Jamal's spine and caused him to be paralyzed from the neck down. After the tumor was shrunk with chemotherapy he remained in ICU. Jamal begin to gain feeling and become mobile in his arms and legs after the tumor was shrunk.
On May 3, 2012 Jamal was tranferred to the Shepherd Center in
Atlanta, GA. Jamal was sent to the Shepherd Center for their rehabilitation program. But on August 12, 2012 the hospital notified the family that the tumor had returned
and reared its ugly head. Due to the spreading around his organs (mainly his
stomach) he is now in unbelievable pain and now taking more meds. The doctors
don't feel like his body is strong enough to undergo another round of
chemotherapy.
The
doctors are unable to identify what type of condition Jamal has and what is
causing the tumor. The biopsies that were done to rule out cancer have all come back
inconclusive. At this point in time it's unsure if Jamal will be able to
receive the proper care he needs in Atlanta, GA.
At this current time the family is seeking a hospital or hospice that will take Jamal's case here in the DMV area and will be able to help him on his journal back to recovery.
Unfortunately the insurance company WILL NOT cover another transfer. As you can believe over the past year and some months his medical bills have been enormous. The Graham family is reaching out to you, family, friends, co-workers, and caring citizens for your help to get Jamal back home to Maryland where he can be surrounded by his love ones.
Jamal is holding on to his faith and refuses to let this health condition win this battle. Please help Jamal first, and his family second reach the financial goal to help with the medical bills and most of all to get "Jamal Home"!

God Bless
