24hr Paddle 4 Cancer M&S - S.UT2018

Donation protected

Cancer is a taker and our goal is to give just as much right back. Every and any amount is appreciated.

What cancer can’t touch is our spirit, our drive and our will to live every day to its fullest potential. A community of people giving back in a very grass roots way. We are not a foundation or a charity - we don’t have red tape. Our goal is a simple one - fill envelopes with donations and get them in the hands of families dealing with cancer. A breath of normalcy for them - thanks to you. Monster and Sea 24 Paddle is an event that inspires people to give and provides an opportunity for community to gather and rally for great people that are going through one of the most challenging times of their lives.

We personally know people that can use the help. One family of avid paddlers just discovered that their father has an inoperapble brain tumor and has 3-6 months left to be with his family. He is losing memory by the day. A second family is also saddled with long-term care. Another woman hasn't paddled in two years as she fights leukemia... This is a small way that we can support those that are on the front lines 24 hrs per day.

$5.00? You are helping someone who needs it.

$20? Pizza money. Thank you for sharing.

50 bucks? That's what it costs us to take our kids to see a movie. Instead, we'll make memories that are meaningful on the 14th.

Any amount, small or large, is sacred and appreciated.

The 24 hours of relay paddling:

"In the spring of 2015, our crew of 6 paddlers took on the challenge of paddling relay style for 24 hours. Our goal was singular: Raise awareness and funds for local families arm wrestling with cancer. The community rallied around us and we raised $5000 and filled 5 envelopes with $1000 each, hand delivered to 5 families  letting them know that they are not alone.

On April 14th of this year - 24 teams and growing, will once again be paddling from 8 a.m on the 14th until 8 a.m on the 15th.

As one person it is difficult to make a difference - but as a community - we are proving that making a difference is  more than possible - it is a joy." -Troy Nebeker, Monster and Sea

Let's do this.

Our Southern Utah home base this year is Dig Paddlesports at Quail Creek State Park in Hurricane. There is plenty of room to accommodate multiple teams.

1) Donate whatever you are able to here on GoFundMe.

2) Sign up to paddle, if you can. With your donation, you get a 1-hour rental credit for use during the event, if needed. Credit is transferrable for the event! Bring a friend! After the first hour, we have gear for you at 1/2 price for the duration of the event.

3) Share. Share the daylights out of this campaign. Cancer doesn't wait.

Paddlers. Volunteers. Sponsors.

Sign up here to paddle. We need paddlers and volunteers to help set up/take down some buoys, manage transistions. Please come out and paddle, say hello, cheer loud and even better join in for some time on the water! We will have food and a warm place to nap when needed. Park is waiving entry fees for all participants and camp fees for overnighters. There are no available camp spots, but we have made some arrangements, so call us to sort that out.

We would love your business sponsorship. Promote your business to some great volunteers and paddlers around the globe both before and during this inaugural event via social media.
