Mission: Interview!

Anyone who's known me at all the past few years will all agree on at least one thing: I am obsessed with moving to California.
Is it the sunshine? Maybe. The friendly people? They are pretty awesome. The smog and sparkly lights of Hollywood? Maybe that too...it always pays to be a tourist in your own town.
But in reality: it's simply where I belong. Ten years ago, I would have never entertained the idea of visiting, much less living in such a large, odd, beautiful, crazy, awesome state. But circumstances eventually brought me there...and I kept returning. It felt right to be there.
California, simply put: is home.
One of my biggest motivators to getting there was finishing school. I graduated college in December 2012 with a degree in Recreation Management. Through various happy incidents in my life, I have been incredibly fortunate to find something that I not only love to do, but I am very good at. Whether running an amusement park, city park, or water park; leading, serving, and providing others with those kinds of experiences is something I live for.
It just so happens to be those opportunities exist in abundance there.
The job market right now is still pretty...meh. My field doesn't pay much. But I have finally earned the first chance I have at getting my foot in the door: I have finally convinced someone in Newark, California that I'm worth their time to interview, exam, and critique for a position that would give me (and the community I'd serve) a fighting chance.
You see, this week I have suffered from theft - identity theft. My account(s) are sludgy at best right now and mostly empty. I only just got the call about this position today - it's next Friday. I'm on a tight schedule, since my current job is in overtime mode right now. I especially need to work those hours in order to recover from the fraud, but this opportunity is also one I have worked very hard for.
But I also need a plane ticket to meet all of these demands. Given that it's during a weekend on very short notice, the tickets will be steep in price...but more than worth every penny.
I would be honored if you were part of this experience, and were able to contribute to this step in my future. It may be the only fly-in interview I attend in this phase of my life; it may be the first of a hundred. But I assure you your participation and support is unforgettable: now that it has begun, I know I will never forget the first actual steps toward my goals, and you would be part of that journey!
Thank you so much :)
