Victims of the Ecuador Earthquake

Dear ASC Families and Friends,

I am opening this account because many of you expressed the desire to donate because you cannot attend the Jon Secada Benefit Concert. The event hosted by me and the Area Stage Company started in support of a worthy cause, one that is very dear to my heart and homeland. 

I was born in Ecuador and most of my family resides there. On Saturday, April 16, my beloved country was stricken by a earthquake of 7.8 magnitude which devastated this developing nation. As with most tragedies, children and families have been the hardest hit. Many have been left homeless and even orphaned. So many of you generously donated supplies and items that I was able to deliver to Ecuador a few weeks ago. On my visit, I witnessed the suffering and devastation firsthand and resolved to do as much as I possibly can to support the people of Ecuador during this difficult time.

This campaign is an extension of our passion for the arts and our love for children, particularly those in need. The funds raised from this event will go to provide permanent shelter and direct relief to a group of orphaned children who have lost everything. Tickets will be on sale for $50, $75 or $100. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation, no matter how large or small, which is completely tax-deductible. All proceeds will go directly to three foundations that are working to support these displaced children.
