Wikidelphia: Explore Digital Philly
Hi, I'm Stan Pokras, the "Instigator" for Community Magic and our fabulous Wikidelphia.
http://wikidelphia.org
Wikidelphia is the ultimate tool for crowdsourcing Philadelphia's wonderful resources.
The site uses a unique category tool that organizes lists of pages by top level tags such as "Is" that organizes by what something is. The top category "Does" indexes pages that do things. The "About" tags indicate what the item is about... For example, if it's a newsletter, an About tag would be assigned for each subject the newsletter covers. The top tag "Issue" organizes activist individuals, sites, blogs or businesses by the issue they address.
Right now Wikidelphia has nearly 2,200 pages. With your gift and your help it will keep growing!!!
You can contact me with page suggestions or you can request to be a Wikidelphia editor or a topic curator. Then have fun discovering Philly and posting pages for your favorite aspects of life in our great city (and the burbs, too).
Now, here’s the pitch: Through this campaign, you can Support Wikidelphia with your cash gift.
Your gift will help my wife and I pay our friend Paul the tiny wage he asks to be our part-time site manager. In addition to scouting Philly's digital world to identify great web sites, Paul is working to groom pages for uniform style and to assign appropriate categories.
Even if you just email me a link, a story, an accolade about someone or something related to our city, or if you create a simple page with the URL of a great website, Paul will make it look good and easy to find.
Support Wikidelphia with your cash donation. And contact me for a password to be a Wikidelphia editor or a topic curator.
