Join me in giving ukulelees to kids in local hospitals
thru The Ukulele Kids Club ( www.theUKC.org) . Music therapy is now in local hospitals; research shows that Music Heals! We volunteer at local hospitals teaching kids to play and singing with them. We then give them instruments to take home - a gift of music for life.
I recently received a $ 500 donation for my favorite charity from NH CIBOR Cares , a Real Estate Group Charity. I chose The Ukulele Kids Club Inc. - and I am hoping to make it grow 20 x. YOUR GIFT IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE .
$200 gets 5 ukuleles to a hospital; $ 40 puts one in a child's waiting hands. SEE what I see: a child in a bed or wheelchair, confused or scared by the hospital experience, now given this musical gift, watch their face light up! See the new possibilities in their eyes? see them regain rhythmic movement after an accident, or ease the pain of infusions, become calm and centered, or listen to them tell their story in a song! YOU can help do this.
Local programs have begun in Elliot in Manchester, Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, Wentworth Douglas in Dover, Anna Jacques in Amesbury , Parkland in Derry, Boston Children's and many others. We need your support to keep them going..... And if you know a hospital who would like a music therapy program, please let me know. Together, we can make this happen. We have a backlog of demand from music therapists in these programs that needs to be filled right now.
