Mitch needs freedom!

My name is Mitch, I am 25 years old and I have Muscular Dystrophy.  I require 24 hour care to live my life, recently I have found myself with the urge to see more of what's out there. I have been cooped up for too long and it's time for a change! A van would significantly improve the quality of my life.

I am looking for funding for a van to get me out into the world, I have had a Volkswagon for 20 years now and it is on the way out, it has become extremely unreliable and I barely fit through the back. This makes longer trips unsafe and uncomfortable for me to partake in. The modifications to make a van accessible for me comes at quite a large cost. My government funding is very limited and  with the ongoing costs of the equipment I need to live such as 24/7 respite care and support;  lift assist devices as well as breathing assistance technology, there is very little left to save for something as expensive as an accessible vehicle.
