Bring Baby Onderdonk Home
Jessie and I have been together for 14 years, married for 10 of those years. 13 years ago we suffered the loss of our son when I was 26 weeks pregnant. For the first few years of our marriage we tried to expand our family with no success, and in the last 4 years we've suffered through 3 miscarriages. After the last miscarriage we decided to visit a fertility doctor. I went on the fertility drugs for 4 months with no success, so our Dr asked us if we wanted to take a more aggressive approach. Of course we said yes! We decided that we would try a few rounds of Invitro-fertilization. Just by doing the fertility drugs it was around $200 a month and the rounds of IVF would run approximately $1200 per month (ins wouldn't cover any cost as they had deemed me infertile, even though my Dr hadn't). After two unsuccessful attempts, I couldn't take the emotional turmoil anymore and I think I was driving my friends and family crazy from all the hormones! We decided to put our trying on hold and let whatever happens happen. About a year ago, we both got the calling from God that the way to expand our family was through adoption. We are both concerned that with the high costs of adoption (approximately $20,000-$30,000) we won't be able to continue with the calling we've gotten from God. We are hoping that by getting contributions from wonderful and caring people like you, we will be able to answer God's calling and provide a loving home for a wonderful child.
