On Sunday, July 10, 2016, Madison House of Refuge, a local church, located in Buckhead, GA, in Morgan county, was broken into and vandalized. The culprits took paint cans and spray painted vulgar pictures and words on all the floors and walls of the church. The projector screen was vandalized with vulgar and hateful words. The walls and floors of the church’s sound room and pastor’s office was spray painted. The church’s sound system, speakers, and music equipment were also spray painted with hateful and vulgar messages and 666 painted everywhere. The choir robes were spray painted and pictures that were hung on the walls of visiting pastors were spray painted as well. Money was also stolen from the pastor’s office. The culprits were caught and found to also have vandalized the local skating rink and bowling alley. According to the pastor of the church, Reverend Garfield Chambers, everything was destroyed and lost. Madison House of Refuge does not have insurance, and will need help to recover things that can be replaced and for the cost of repair and cleanup from the destruction of the vandals to the church. This is our church, a place of refuge, we thank you in advance for your help.
