Bill Kovatch Battles Cancer
Donation protected
Cancer sucks. This is my second round of fighting cancer.
I am a forty-eight year old man with two teenage children and a grown son. Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer. I underwent radiation, surgery and chemotherapy. Thank the Lord, I survived cancer-free for ten years.
In June of 2017, however, my doctor discovered that the cancer has reappeared in my bladder. Once again, I needed surgery.
The plan was supposed to be surgery, followed by a week in the hospital and four to six weeks of recovery. Complications arose caused by the scar tissue from the earlier surgeries and radiation. It required a revision of the surgery followed and what turned into four months in the hospital.
That was followed by monthly trips to the ER with infection after infection. Two years out of work has been devastating on this self-employed attorney. I blew through my savings trying to keep up with the household bills and mortgage. Plus, even with insurance, there are significant expenses that aren’t covered.
I hate asking for help, but I feel I have no choice. Even after I get back on my feet and start working again, it will be significantly difficult to pay off the medical debt and support my family.
My family, my friends and my church have been wonderful in trying to support me in whatever way they could. But I’m afraid that the medical bills and household expenses are overwhelming. If you feel the desire to help me further, please feel free to donate to the special needs trust set up to pay my expenses.
I have full faith that God will bring my family and me through this. But I need you to act as his instruments of help.
Thank you for considering this and thank you for your support and prayers.
God bless you all,
Bill Kovatch
