My name is Brittany and I am an18 year old performing arts student who lives independently in Ipswich, Suffolk. I attend Suffolk New College taking a University Arts London (UAL) Level Three Extended Diploma in Performing Arts , in which I am predicted a Distinction (equivalent to 3 A*s at A-Level). I frequently excel in drama and performance both in college and externally, recently winning the 'most outstanding progression' award at my college for my achievements in that academic year. Generally it is something I really do love doing and feel very passionate about, and therefore persuing it as a career is my biggest aspiration.
After attending an audition in London for the prestigious European institution of performing arts that is 'The Institute of Arts Barcelona' I was privileged enough to be given a place on the BA(hons) Acting course in which 27 places are awarded after a series of worldwide auditions. Attending such a profound higher education school such as this one would enable me to follow my dreams to becoming a proffessional performer.
The one downside of this amazing opportunity is that because the school is in Spain I am not entitled to any student finanace and this must be solely funded by myself. Luckily, due to it being such a large achievement with I have been sponsored most of the amount I need for the tution fee, as well as securing myself a place to live, paying the deposit, paid flights and began saving/selling the stuff I will not need for my travels. Unfortunately however; I am still the final stretch of£1,000 short. This in comparrison to the original tution fee for International Students €14000 this is a tiny percentage but to someone like myself it is still a large amount of money I cannot accumulate on my own. I have applied to all possible potential sponsorships about donating to my cause but due to current affairs and me simply not fitting a lot of the critiria most will not fund education overseas.
My last option now is to look to crowd funding. I understand my cause is perhaps not the most important of charities, but this is something I have worked so hard towards and I did not come this far to only get this far. Any donation no matter how small will be deeply appriciated, or simply sharing the page to try and get word out. I have a sponsor interested who will match the £500 if I can raise the first half - then I can be off to begin creating my future and following the dream!
