DNC Action Committee People's Guide

The DNC Action Committee is a coming together of groups and individuals offering mutual support — information on legal, medical, housing, press, transportation and other resources — for those participating in actions around the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia at the end of July 2016.
While we have divergent political views, we oppose all we are facing: the destruction of the environment and communities through war, occupation & imperialism; repression, mass deportation, criminalization and imprisonment; racism, sexism, disability discrimination & all other forms of discrimination including on grounds of sexual or gender choice; and poverty, no/low wages & individual accumulation of wealth.
We need funds to cover our most basic expenses and meet our goals of serving as a resource to protesters during the march. These expenses include:
- Printing 15,000 copies of UnConventional Times, a special edition newspaper highlighting why we dissent, which will be distributed in mass around the city of Philadelphia - $500
- Printing 500 copies of the “People’s Guide,” a pocket-sized pamphlet with a comprehensive schedule of events, places for participants to find solace, sustenance, wifi/power and medical care as well a detailed map of the city that corresponds with that info. $400
- Silk-screens of the Solidarity Fist for signs to give to demonstrators, a citywide poster campaign and t-shirts to demonstrate our solidarity and unity. - $190
- Reimburse out of pocket cost for the Solidarity Block Party (drinks, food, canopies, creative activities, portable restroom, sprinkler etc) - $300

- The Action Committee will provide custom signs for Black DNC Resistance March against Police Terrorism & State Repression and Bernie or BUST! Rally - $110
While millions of dollars are spent on decorations, grassroots organizers expressing dissent are scrambling to meet fiscal goals for basics things like flyers and food. While the voices of Democratic politicians are boosted by the corporate media and broadcast from Wells Fargo’s $210 million arena, the voices of dissenters (especially the poor and marginalized among us) are silenced and ignored.
Please consider making a donation so that the DNC Action Committee can help facilitate powerful, intersectional organized resistance that cannot be ignored, expose the issues that the mass media neglects to cover, and ensure that protesters are informed about where to go and when throughout the week of July 25.
