Hello Friends, Family, and FANS of RisingSide -
We are a unique 4 piece progressive rock band based in Minneapolis, MN. Our music is epic, hard rocking, soulful, complex, heavy, and storytelling. The experience of RisingSide includes many different emotional colors, energies, and musical styles. Our unique lyrical stories are told through soulful ballads, dancing rock tunes, progressive instrumentals, and driving metal riffs. We are four down-to-earth young twin cities musicians who support the local scene - loving the experience and camaraderie of hanging out with live music.
Our drummer, Scotty Horey, toured Brazil this past summer as a solo artist and shared the energy and excitement of RisingSide's music in his solo presentations. We were blown away by the positive reaction! We now feel a demand and inspiration to bring the whole band to Brazil for 4 special concerts in Passo Fundo, Uberlandia, Sao Paulo, and Belo Horizonte in June 2016. Scotty's colleagues in Brazil have welcomed RisingSide's initiative to plan these events with open arms, and plans are moving forward.
RisingSide's message is not only told through their high energy rock concerts, but through our educational presentations on the importance of progressive rock as well. Creativity, teamwork, songwriting, technique, professionalism and music technology are topics we are passionate about discussing with South American audiences.
We have recently given successful band clinics at the The University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, The University of Minnesota- Morris, and the MacPhail Center for Music.
Here are some of our goals while on tour:
- To help South American audiences and students develop a stronger appreciation for progressive rock, and send a message of professionalism/artistry within this style
- To provide the members of RisingSide with an exciting, fresh, new experience in a different culture to strengthen our musical inspiration, grow as individuals, and build our relationship as a band.
- To build a new international network by meeting new colleagues and audiences that can encourage future plans and musical/cultural exchange
ALL OF THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED with a little help that you can provide. The funds we are attempting to raise will go toward our 4 member's airfare and transportation expenses. We just need your to help us get there - everything else is lined up!
We hope to raise the funds to buy our tickets by February, 2016.
