Hello friends and family members, my heart is broken for my brother Jason Paul Torres who has been taken from us before his time. On Sunday, August 7th, my brother was fatally attacked by an unkown man at a gas station and the investigation is still being conducted. My name is Joseph Torres and I am representing the Torres family. I am Jason's youngest brother and I love him with all my heart. Words can not express the loss I feel and I am thankful for the outpouring of love that has already occured from our friends and family. I want to do something meaningful in rememberance of my brother, but I'm just a full time student working part time with no savings to get by and our entire family needs all the help we can get. My father passed away when I was 5 years old and Jason was my hero and a father figure to me growing up. He has a loving wife and brought 8 lovely children into this world. He was always there for me and I want to be there for his kids too.
The Money will be used to pay for Jason's funeral expenses.
Here is a list of expenses.
$495 - Transportation fees
$1,495 - opening and closing of grave
$500 - Storing the Body before burial
$775 - Funeral Director Fee
$12 - Burial Permit
$24 - Death Certificate
$450 - Vault
$2,500 - Casket
Jason's funeral is scheduled to occur at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Tusten, CA next week when we get more details about when his body will be released. My mother purchased the plot on top of my dad's plot when my father passed away and we will be using that to help save money towards the funeral costs. The remaining funds will be split between Jason's kids to help with all the expenses that come with raising children. Currently the children are being taken care of by Jeff and Darlene, their maternal grand parents, and that remaining money will be given to them.
I want my brother to have a beautiful funeral service because he deserves to be honored as a loving son, brother, friend, and most importantly as a father. These expenses are not something my family nor his family can afford right now but we are doing our best to raise funds. Any help would be greatly appreciated and even a little bit goes a long way.
