Memorializing my Angel Elise
A new film is in the works which is giving bereaved parents like myself the opportunity to dedicate an "In Loving Memory of:" credit at the end of the film.
Based on a true story, RETURN TO ZERO tells the story of a couple who, just weeks before the delivery of their son, are devastated to learn that he has died in the womb and will be stillborn.
Grief
and trauma nearly destroys their marriage, until they learn they are
again pregnant, and must navigate their way through a terrifying and
turbulent pregnancy with the help of an empathetic doctor. With warmth,
humor, and exploration of the human spirit RETURN TO ZERO casts a light
on an all-too-often overlooked subject. Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting), Paul Adelstein (Private Practice), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Kathy Baker (Edward Scissorhands), Andrea Anders (Better off Ted) and Sarah Jones (Vegas) star in this compelling story.
It would mean the world to me to have Elise's name included in this production. I am asking for help with the funding of this for many reasons. First, I am a stay at home mom of 4 living children, $250 is a lot of money for me to put out. Any dollar amount donated eases the financial burden for my family. Second, sharing Elise's story through this website is yet another way to share HER and keep her memory alive. I love speaking about my angel! Third, this movie touches my heart and I am happy to promote it via this avenue. From what I gather, it closely parallels my experience, not just with the death of my child, but by having my marriage almost fall apart shortly after and then becoming pregnant again. Finally, I hope that this request for support raises awareness about stillbirth to those who might not otherwise even know what the term means or know exactly how prevalent it is.
Stillbirth is defined as the death of a baby at 20 weeks of pregnancy or greater in the United State. More than 26,000 babies are stillborn every year, with more than half occurring during the last trimester of pregnancy.
You can read more about stillbirth on my blog.
Please stay a while and look around the blog to learn more about my journey.
Thank you for your time in reading my story and for your consideration.
I do it all in Elise's Honor!
Any additional funds raised over the goal for this project will be used to help me continue my work in raising awareness and helping other families who have been affected by the tragedy of pregnancy loss.
