Ras na mBan 2016 team

Hello there,
A year is a long time in cycling, after the Race around Ireland last year, I drove down to Dromoland to take on a support role for Wattcycle at the Ras na mBan. I had so much fun doing that, I said at the end of the race, that it would be my dream to take my own team over at some point.
Well....roll on 2016, quite a number of riders were asking me about how they could get into a Ras team, so many, that it led me to thinking about how I could go about putting a team in.
A few conversations later, a number of riders committed to joining me and a plan was formulated.
The team looks like this

Grace Garner (Podium Ambition Pro Cycling powered by Club La Santa)
Corinne Clark (Team WNT)
Jen George (Drops Cycling)

Now comes the reason for this post, getting a team to Ireland is the easy part, booking accommodation, ferries and entry into the race doesn't come cheap. The race distance over six stages in five days is 383km.
So a simple calculation. 383km times the maximum riders in a team (5) is 1915...Not a kick in the butt off the estimated cost of race entry, ferries and accommodation.
So my brain started to tick away. All riders are committed to paying for it themselves, plus the three crew members who are going to put in the same money as the riders. What would be a novel way of raising some funds to make it cheaper for the riders though?
Ding Ding....sell every kilometre the riders will race. So if each of the five riders makes the finish on day five, they will have completed 383km of racing each, not to mention all the travelling between stages and training.
I'm not looking to raise money for the crew members, just the riders to try and make it a bit easier on their wallets, as womens racing does suffer from a lack of funding.
So I'm launching this fund raising to "sell" 1915km at £1 each....If we were to raise that full amount, that would cover all riders costs for the race. Crew members would still pay their own way.
