Hey y'all! My name is Crystal, and I am a natural born artist. Today, I know that I am here on Earth to spread love and light through creative expression; However, it took me a while to realize this.
Growing up, a career in art was never ideal. At a very young age I was drawing photorealistic portraits for family and friends, but "starving artist" was always the first thing to come out of people's mouths when I approached them with my craft. As I got older, my family pushed me more toward math & science. It wasn't until my third year of studying engineering that I realized art was my hearts deepest desire.
I finished my fourth year of college at a two-year institution and acquired an AA in Art. It wasn't a "real" art school, but it was enough, considering all of the time invested and debt accumulated over the previous three years. I tried my hand at another university, and stopped while I was ahead on the debt scale. Needless to say, I don't need a 4 year degree and $100,000 worth of debt to do what I love.
What I DO need is career specific training. In 2015, I started my own art business, Crystal Jovon Art. I plan to start my own arts & entertainment business, a sip-and-paint style event. In both endeavors I am afraid to say that I am lacking business insight AND painting instruction "know how." Knowing how to paint is one thing, but TEACHING novice artists how to paint is entirely different. So, I have finally found a program that will give me both of these essential building blocks.
All donations will go toward my "tuition." $597 pays for the Certified Instructor Program (artis4every1.com) There are 8 courses centered around how to teach art and how to run an art business. It doesn't get more career specific than that!
First, I plan to get a second job instructing art during the week, after I recieve my certificate (it will supplement a required BA degree). I will also use all insight gained in these courses to run my businesses more efficiently. Lastly, with this certification, I will be able to confidently spread the gift of creativity to children and elderly alike.
Anyone that donates $25+ will recieve a one-of-a-kind work of art, signed by me, Crystal Jovon, while supplies last.
