Let me become a Samos Volunteer

My name is Chay. I have lived a privileged and happy life free of war, poverty, cruelty and full of laughter and love. This makes me one of the most fortunate people in the world. I desperately want the opportunity to help those whose lives have not been as ideal as mine and to do what I feel is right and good.

Right now, thousands of people are fleeing into Europe in search of a better life, in an attempt to escape horrors we can scarcely imagine. Many of these people cross into Samos, a Greek island. There volunteers work endlessly to organise, shelter, feed and clothe these people. It is an overwhelming task and is constantly in need of more support on the front line, especially in the months following the summer when many volunteers return home for school and work. I want to go out there and join in this immense humanitarian effort for as long as I can afford to.

If you choose to donate to this cause the money will be used to allow me to stay in Samos while I work everyday to do my part. It wont be spent on a five star hotel, or expensive dinners - just what I need to survive. The longer i can make this money last the longer I can give myself to this cause.

I will forever be grateful for anything you could give and realise that while it will be me going out there, it will be just as much you giving your time and energy to help these people, because you are the ones who made it possible.
