The Twinkle in Lilian's Eyes
Donation protected
At 18 months old, Lilian is one of many Tanzanian children who suffers from strabismus- crossed eyes- and unless she recieves care now, she will never see well enough to read or function well in her world.
There are easy fixes- eye patches on alternating eyes while she is a toddler, followed by glasses when she is a bit older. And of course, her mother must take her every 3 months to the distant referral hospital where there is a pediatric eye specialist- one of only 3 in Tanzania.
This family of 5 lives on the wages of the father, who is a part time butcher, and the illiterate mother, who sells socks in the market. They live in a single rented room.
All family members but Lilian are HIV+ and part of Pamoja Project's program for HIV+ families.
For $500 per year we can lift the impossible burden of Lilian's eye care from her parent's shoulders. Let's join together and help Lilian to have a productive life instead of one impacted by lifelong disability.
