Mission Discovery to Ecuador

Tax deductible
Over Christmas Break, 8 young adults and two leaders from the North Central Jurisdiction of the UMC will travel to Ecuador to engage in a relational mission with 5 young adults and 1 adult leader from the Ecuadorian Methodist church. This is a 10 day Mission Discovery Journey. This mission is endorsed by United Methodist Volunteers In Mission - North Central Jurisdiction (UMVIM_NCJ) and its Mission Discovery program.

The US team is busy raising their funds for the mission (~$2000 each for travel, lodging and food). The Ecuadorian young adults do not have the means to raise their funds. So we are trying to do this for them. They will need about $3000 for their travel, lodging and food.

We also need to raise funds for cost of the project - some construction and some special relational events for youth and children and anticipate that cost at $2500.

Funds will be needed by Dec 20, 2016.

The impact of relational missions like this is phenomenal. When young adults from the USA can engage with those from another culture and country in Christian love, we can expect outcomes of understanding and acceptance between the cultures.

A friend just wrote., 'It is so easy for people in the USA to make assumptions about the world when they rarely venture far afield. Seeing the world with open eyes teaches compassion and acceptance. There is always a need to "walk in someone else's shoes" to gain perspective.' Very appropo!

So thank you for helping this mission become a reality!
Many lives will be touched by your donation both here and in Ecuador!
