Suicide affects us all. Every year, millions of Americans are directly
affected by the more than 37,000 suicides and hundreds of thousands of
suicide attempts made by friends or loved ones.
Yet, suicide is preventable.
Understanding and preventing suicide through research, education, counseling and advocacy. We have much to do
and need your help.
If you are in crisis, call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
This is our personal story.

Our adored brother, beloved son, kind friend and colleague took his own life on March 1, 2013. He was a vibrant 22-year-old young man who suffered from depression, had taken steroids and hid this darkness and anger most of the time with his effervescent smile. Savion touched people of all ages with his powerful words and kind heart. One of Savion's goals in life was to take the pain away from others and to spread his contagious laugh and gentle smile with all who knew and loved him.
Although we will never get to tell him again that we love him or to just give him a huge hug, we can honor his life by bringing suicide, depression and gun registration out of the darkness and into the light. We will do all we can to reach out to help prevent others from feeling our pain and experiencing our heartbreak.
We hope you will join us and share this incredible and difficult journey. Together we will find a way to mourn, to grieve and to ultimately bring love, peace and hope out of the darkness of suicide and depression into the light.
