Outsmart Brain Cancer was formed to help the families of brain cancer warriors. Our mission is to provide resources, support and compassion for families navigating brain cancer.
Outsmart was formed in honor of Joseph Schmidt who died of glioblastoma on August 2, 2016. During his fight, his family had to learn the hard way how to deal with the hospitals, social security, disability, hospice and more. Outsmart will help other families navigate these trying times learning from the experience of others.
Brain cancer is now the leading cause of cancer deaths in those aged 0-19. 73,000 new cases of brain cancer will be diagnosed this year alone.
Brain cancer does not descriminate. Any age, sex, ethnicity can be diagnosed.
