Middle School Basketball
Hello,
My name is Angelica and I'm the proud coach for a Middle School girl's basketball team. Last spring was my first time coaching and the first time my girls participated in any kind of organized sport during a free spring tournament.
Regardless of their inexperience, these young ladies manage to have a 3-6 record which all things considered was amazing. These girls come from varies backgrounds, live in a tough neighborhood and experince many different adversities in their day to day lives. To them, basketball is an outlet for any possible negative energy and a way for them to have fun and forget about their problems.
This year I am hoping to get these girls, as well as the new 6th graders, ready for the 2017 spring season by entering them in the Middle School 2016-2017 basketball league. Last spring due to the girls never having experienced basketball at an organized level they were quite nervous during their games and really dishearten whenever they lost. Even so, they would come back every day during after school and practiced their hearts out.
Our goal is to raise $600 before the October 14 deadline for team/tournament fees, referee fees and traveling fees. Extra donations would go directly to our basketball program and help us aquire any other exquipment such as girl basketballs and additional uniforms (some of my players cant even afford shorts).
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by us.
