You may know me by names such as Max, Joshua or June. I'm a 24yr old social worker in Oakland, CA, providing case management to LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness.
I hold many identities, as a queer, trans, mixed and disabled femme, which can hold me back from finding things such as safe and accessible housing. Luckily!! I have found an amazing, sweet, and accessible place to move in. Moving is very scary for me, because I have a history of being homeless.
This is where I need your help! This Thursday I am going to have a surgery that will keep me out of work for almost a month. I need to pay rent at the current place I live in, and also start paying rent at the new place on Octber 15th. I have enough money to pay for my current place, but I am unable to get the money together for my new place, since I cannot work.
I really don't want to loose this place. Finding affordable and accessible living in the Bay Area is so impossible, and I'm banking on this. Please consider supporting if possible!
If I can do anything in return, let me know. Anything that will get me into safe housing and away from homelessness is appreciated.
