Cancer Patient's Wish
Okay this is hard for me...
My name is Cullen, and I have stage 2 cancer and will be starting chemotherapy on August 17th. I am scared. I am scared I will not get to spend time with my kids. I am scared I will not get to see my youngest graduate from high school. I am scared I will not get to see my eldest get married. I am scared I will not get to live to see a grandchild. Yes I am scared, but right now I want to spend as much time as I can with my kids. My kids and I have ,for the last 2 months, been out riding bikes almost every day, we try to ride for 4 miles (about 35 to 50 mins) a day.
But a few days ago all that changed, someone broke into our shared garage. They took a crowbar to the lock and, thankfully, the lock held up. However, when that did not work they tried to twist off the slide bolt that secures the door, and that gave way. Once they got that side done the just pried the door open till the other side popped out and the whole door was able to be lifted.
Once inside they only touched 4 things and four things only: 4 of the 6 bikes sitting in there. They did not rifle though the many boxes and bags on our side, nor did they take the scooters or skateboards that were there, they did not touch our neighbors car or weight lifting equipment on their side. They just took the 4 newest bikes which was mine, and 3 of my kids bikes.
Right now, there is no way we can afford to replace all the bikes and get extra security stuff to make sure this does not happen again. I am asking for some help in trying to make any time I can spend with my kids memorable. Yes I know that there will be some bad days during chemo and I will not be able to go out riding, But I have made a promise that on days that I can handle it, and even on days that I can only bear it that I will ride bikes with them. I promised that I will spend as much time as possbile doing the things we all like to do.
So if you can see your way in to helping us get new bikes and secure the bikes, my family and I would appreacite it.
So here is the plan to make sure the bikes stay safe in our apartment complex.
1st The bikes will go on our gated patio and be locked to a Bike Rack
COST: $50
Then each bike will have 2 locks and 1 of those locks will be an alarm style lock so if it is moved/touched it will make enough noise to wake us inside.
COST: $20 Each
Each bike will also have a xyfindit tracker attached to allow us to track the bike(s) should it(they) be stolen again.
COST: $20 each
Since they will be outside we need to put a cover over them and we only have 8 ft by 10 ft so this popup tent will work the best for keeping the bikes from getting to much sun and most of the rain off. When its bad they will be brought inside the apartment, but we live in Southern California and It never rains.
COST: $120
Now for the bikes that everyone wants...
Veronica 26" Huffy Regatta Women's Cruiser Bike, Sea Foam
COST: $199
Amanda 26" Schwinn Fairhaven Women's 7-Speed Cruiser Bike, Cream
COST: $149
Anakin 26" Kent Men's Devastator 7-speed Fat Tire Bike, Yellow

Mine 26" Kent Del Rio Men's Cruiser Bike, Red

Those were the ones that got stolen.
However my oldest Katelyn's bike the rear wheel hub asembly gave out and the tire went flat that afternoon, and I figured perhaps we could get her a new bike too, since she was riding my old bike from 7 years ago. She would like to get 26" NEXT, Avalon, Comfort Bike, Full Suspension, Women's Bike, Purple
