Bud Christian Educational Memorial

Donation protected
Roland “Bud” Christian was killed by a hit-and-run driver in April, 2016. I am his daughter and am searching for a way to create something positive from all the negativity surrounding his death. This fund will establish an educational memorial to celebrate his life as a teacher, advisor and mentor to so many.

He began teaching in 1962, working at a New York middle school followed by a small high school in western Colorado before moving to Sterling, Colorado in 1967 for a job at Northeastern Junior College, where he spent the rest of his career, fully retiring in 1997. Throughout his tenure there, he taught a variety of courses including speech, composition, literature and humanities. He also served as the faculty advisor for the campus literary magazine and newspaper.

His family would like to continue his legacy at NJC. Some possibilities for this fund include an endowment scholarship, naming a room after him in the building he taught in and/or some kind of gift in his name for the school.

Our family will be eternally grateful for any help we can get to keep Dad's memory alive at NJC.

We have set a deadline of March 1, 2017 so we can hopefully get the scholarship set up for that fall if we raise enough money.
