Send our kids to the Odyssey World Finals!!
Our school, Ecole Glenayre Elementary, is involved in a program called "Odyssey of the Mind" that is run by the Creative Problem Solving Society, a registered charity in BC. The program involves students (in our case, grades 3-5) 100% being responsible for brainstorming, creativity, problem-solving, and thinking outside the box to come up with solutions to short and long-term problems, doing everything themselves, including building structures, writing scripts, and sourcing materials - it's incredible!!
Our kids have learned so much from each other and about themselves! This program is huge for increasing confidence, building self-esteem, practicing teamwork, and refining social skills.
Our team recently competed in the BC Provincial Tournament and won a GOLD MEDAL, qualifying us to represent Port Moody, BC, and Canada at WORLD FINALS!!
This competition, being held in Ames, Iowa, from May 25-29, 2016, hosts over 15,000 students from 24 countries! It is like a school “Olympics” for kids and we are immensely proud of our team! This event may be a once in a lifetime possibility for some of these kids. Imagine, attending the school “Olympics”!!
We need your help to get there. We are requesting funds to be donated to the Creative Problem Solving Society charity, **with these funds earmarked as sponsoring Ecole Glenayre** so we may travel to Iowa to represent Port Moody on a World Stage!
Our costs are totaling upwards of $18,000. Anything you can provide will be immensely appreciated!
We would also be happy to discuss sponsorship, with your logo on our shirts during competition!
