Fund the real Jamaica

After visiting Jamaica for the second time in ny life and being heartbroken all over again, I have decided to travel back to jamaica and spend the summer doing what i can to make a difference.
I am organising fundraiser events in the uk and hoping to raise at least 5000 pounds to help some children and young peoples settings on the islands . I have decided to visit a childrens home in Montego Bay, a basic school in Lucea, Hanover and the maternity ward at St Anns hospital ocho rios.
I am currently studying a degree in working with children young people and families which I am due to finish in 2018, I work part time as a residential support worker here in the uk and am passionate about helping children and young people to secure a brighter future.
My aim in jamaica is to take resources which are needed to each setting. I won't be giving people cash donations I will be buying/collecting resources both in the uk and over in jamaica and then delivering what is needed to each project. I want to buy sports and educational resources for the schools and I am putting together small bounty like packs with baby bottles,diapers, steralising tablets, babywipes and whatever else I can get my hands on for new mums at the hospital.
I am hoping people will give to my cause as it is something I am extremely passionate about I am using my own money to get there and have family and friends I am staying with so none of the funds raised will be used to support myself and every penny I raise will go towards making a difference in Jamaica,however small a donation is it can help, as they say a little can go a long way.
I would like to thank anyone who takes the time to read this and any donations will be used to help a person or a family or even a whole community who knows! But one thing is for sure it will go where it is needed the most and be appreciated eternally.
I hope in years to come when I finish my studies to set up my own charity youth house and help vulnerable young people in jamaica to have a better start in life. This is just the beginning ☺
