McDonogh 35 Cheerleader Competition
The Roneagle Cheerleaders of McDonogh # 35 Senior High School in New Orleans, Louisiana have ranked high enough in the UCA Louisiana Regional Cheerleading Competition to receive a bid in the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida on February 7-8, 2015. The ladies are in need of donations so they can display their hard work and dedication on the national circuit.
The cheerleaders, under the direction of Mrs. Danielle Allen-Lewis have received two prior bids for the national competition but have never had the funding to compete. These young ladies are in need of your assistance so that they can be the first group from McDonogh # 35 to compete nationally.
McDonogh # 35 Senior High School was founded in 1917 in New Orleans, Louisiana as the first public high school for African American pupils. McDonogh # 35 has a rich history of producing productive citizens in the City of New Orleans, State of Louisiana, and the United States of America.
Notable alumnus of McDonogh # 35 include but are not limited to: Mayor Ernest "Dutch" Morial (First African American Mayor of New Orleans), Dr. Morris F.X. Jeff, Sr. (Prominent Educator & Recreation Coordinator), Israel M. Augustine, Jr. (First African American elected judge in Orleans Parish), Rev. Abraham Lincoln Davis (Founder of SCLC and first African American Councilman in New Orleans), Dr. Mack J. Spears (First African American President of Louisiana School Boards Assocaition), Joan Bernard Armstrong (First African American Chief Judge of the LA 4th Cir. Appeals Court), Neil Smith (NFL Player), Dr. Calvin Mackie (Engineer, Motivational Speaker, Author), Darryl Willis (Vice President of Claims for BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill), Michael Smith (ESPN Analyst).
