Jackie Price-Dunn Memorial Fund

Donation protected
This fund was originally set up to give Jackie's family one less material thing to think about during their time of loss; it's now become so much more.
When I started this fund, it was my hope to raise whatever is needed to cover medical deductibles/funeral expenses. Immediately, people gave so generously, there was no question that expensive ICU care and medical deductibles would be covered.

Honoring Jackie's legacy of giving back to her community
Durward (Jackie's husband) reached out to me and let me know he wanted to do something much more with the funds raised. He wanted continue Jackie's legacy of giving back to her community and use the funds raised to honor Jackie's memory by contributing to the things that mattered most to her.

Durward will be establishing a non-profit in her name to fund local community projects she was passionate about, such as: women's empowerment/mentorship, women's programs in STEM, faith based youth and ministry work, and amateur cycling programs.

I met Jackie at a cycling race. Her big Texas Aggie smile won me over immediately. She was this combination of open, warm and fierce competitor; all at the same time.
The amateur cycling world is very small. When we lose one of our own, it's like losing a family member.

During race season we train during the week (sometimes with each other) and line up to see what we've got every weekend. We turn ourselves inside out and give each other that knowing look at the end of the race; because we went through it together. We all have this bond that's really difficult to explain, unless you've pinned a number to your jersey and committed to a race.

As I got to know her, I discovered that Jackie was quite a multifaceted woman. She was a loving wife. She was a woman of faith. She was a fierce competitor in every sport she took on. She was a champion of women's empowerment. She could light up a room with her smile.

Let's honor her memory and support Jackie's family by giving them something positive to think about during this time of mourning.
If you're not a cyclist, you're most likely reading this because Jackie has touched your life, or the life of someone you know. If you're a cyclist; this is "your turn to take a pull", as this tragedy hits oh-so-close to home...this could have happened to any one of us. So let's form that paceline and show the world we love and take care of our own.

From cyclists, to Aggies, to friends and family - both literal and spiritual, let's come together as a group for her loved ones - and do what we can to shoulder some of the burden of loss for this magnificent woman. Please honor her spirit with a contribution to support what was important to her.

Thank you.
