Pathway To Tokyo

Hi my name is Bradley Gleave, I am twenty three years of age from Warrington Cheshire and this is my story so far.I have always been an active participant and have a passion for sport. I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of two, I have never let the cards I've been dealt define who I am, and had strived to achieve success in all aspects of my life.In 2009 I started playing sports which was wheelchair basketball, and rugby to increase my overall health, both mentally and physically with people In a similar situation. I soon realised this was not my pathway. After finishing school in 2010 and passing a N.V.Q in sport 2011 I joined a boxing club Phoenix Fire ABC, people said I would not go far but before long I started coaching and after completing a coaching course I became The First Disabled Boxing Coach in the UK.I then opened up a club for people of all abilities mixing Disabled and abled bodied children together to educate them that a disability is nothing to scared of and that we are all the same.I am a gym enthusiast going and have enjoyed going several times a week for the past few years. In 2013 I was still set to really see what I wanted to do; In 2015 I joined a local gym called The Iron Pit that was set up for serious training for strong men/women and body builders.I was quickly head hunted to take part the United Kingdom first Disabled strongman competition in Stoke. For months I trained as though there was no tomorrow I was placed 8th overall but that was not the end, I continued getting stronger and learning from my past mistakes and in 2016 I achieved the title of the UK's Strongest Disabled Man with Cerebral Palsy. All along people have said it would not happen but I have proved them wrong. I am on a mission to change the world, as I take on my next challenge and dream to compete in the next Paralympic Games in wheelchair racing.I want to show people no matter how big or small you think it is you must chase your dreams and you can achieve anything that you want to with positive thinking.I am no stranger to hard work and have passed the first stage on the pathway to Toyko in 2020 and have been told I have potential and support from The British cycling Association , but to accomplish this I have traveled to Cambridge to be measured for an RX Force Racing wheelchair, with accessories but they do not come cheap the quote that I have received is £7,955 I understand that this is a lot of money but any donation towards this goal will be sincerely appreciated and with generous support I will be well on my way to achieve my goal and my dream will become reality. I will keep you all posted as my journey goes forward. Remember we are not Disabled we are differently Abled. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Bradley
